HOST LFST RB3000: Last week we got down to some of the finer points and mechanisms of

HOST LFST RB3000: spiritual and mystical practices. Actually, the practices are mostly the

HOST LFST RB3000: same between spiritual and mystical intent, but they are harvested

HOST LFST RB3000: differently by mystical lineages than the are by spiritual traditions. We

HOST LFST RB3000: will explore more about those differences in a future class.

HOST LFST RB3000: I mentioned this last week, but I have to explain that the reason that the

HOST LFST RB3000: words I use may sound paradoxical in explaining these areas, is that we

HOST LFST RB3000: are aiming for positions of consciousness that are not mapped in the field

HOST LFST RB3000: of ordinary, mechanistic ego-intellect, and so normal language categories

HOST LFST RB3000: never fit accurately.

HOST LFST RB3000: Another clarification I always make is "ecstatic-mystical trances" -- we'll

HOST LFST RB3000: talk more about these in future classes, but for now I'll just point out that

HOST LFST RB3000: I am not using the colloquial nor the psychological meanings of these

HOST LFST RB3000: words.

HOST LFST RB3000: "Ecstatic" does not mean "really happy", "mystical" does not mean

HOST LFST RB3000: exotic or orthodox, nor is it necessarily mysterious. The "trances" that I

HOST LFST RB3000: am talking about are not from watching a pendulum or a twirling spiral;

HOST LFST RB3000: they are conscious shifts into alternate realities by one's own intent.

HOST LFST RB3000: ******

HOST LFST RB3000: To summarize last week's discussion, we examined "Just Sitting" -- and

HOST LFST RB3000: there is a special reason that I don't say "meditation" for this.

HOST LFST RB3000: Mantras -- toning, chanting, repetitious singing, and "silences" of a

HOST LFST RB3000: certain kind.

HOST LFST RB3000: Pranayama-- the mystical octaves of the Breath; the activation of the

HOST LFST RB3000: Serpents; the aspiration of the deities.

HOST LFST RB3000: Asanas and Mudras: These are specific positions and movements of the

HOST LFST RB3000: body and of the hands which allow various kinds of energies and healings

HOST LFST RB3000: to be channelled, and which tone the psychic and spiritual apparatus.

HOST LFST RB3000: T'ai Ch'i, K'ung F'u, Ch'i Kung and sacred dance -- methods of installing

HOST LFST RB3000: the dimensionalities of consciousness into the body.

HOST LFST RB3000: Does anybody remember about those?

HOST LFST RB3000: Before we get started on our second lesson, there are a few points that

HOST LFST RB3000: we have to get clear on, and this must be started before any serious work

HOST LFST RB3000: on consciousness and awakening can occur. The exercises that we've

HOST LFST RB3000: already talked about fall into the line of *preparing the apparatus*. These

HOST LFST RB3000: next practices (actually all are part of one major principle) are in the line

HOST LFST RB3000: of developing will.

HOST LFST RB3000: The first of these advanced exercises is: Appointments: gradually setting

HOST LFST RB3000: up more and more of the hitherto unconscious activities of our daily lives

HOST LFST RB3000: until we are supported by a network of conscious points, as a platform

HOST LFST RB3000: from which our lives and realities can be transformed.

HOST LFST RB3000: Ultimately, every moment of our life becomes seen as "an appointment

HOST LFST RB3000: with Power," as don Juan would say. And then the Power is in us and with

HOST LFST RB3000: us. Further along in this course, we will anticipate what it would be like to

HOST LFST RB3000: live by such Power. (Exercise: Why do I capitalize words like "Power",

HOST LFST RB3000: "Consciousness" and "Spirit"?)

HOST LFST RB3000: Questions or comments about that?

HOST LFST RB3000: Daily inventory:(sometimes referred to as "recapitulation") Initially done

HOST LFST RB3000: at the end of each day, this is a dispassionate, objective, experiential

HOST LFST RB3000: examination of our responses to everything that occurred on the given

HOST LFST RB3000: day for us, often divided into intellectual, emotional, psychological and

HOST LFST RB3000: physical channels

HOST LFST RB3000: (physical may be further subdivided into habitual, addictive, and fear-

HOST LFST RB3000: and anger- induced reactions). This examination is done silently, often by

HOST LFST RB3000: following the breath, and totally without judgments.

HOST LFST RB3000: This last one is an extremely subtle practice -- let's discuss it more.

HOST LFST RB3000: even breath that programs the event into the body as a pure sequence.

HOST LFST RB3000: entrained programs till we are witnessing the Miracle of Existence right

HOST LFST RB3000: So far, I've identified at least four different and important results of doing

HOST LFST RB3000: the inventory faithfully. First, we attain self-knowledge, and can predict

HOST LFST RB3000: our reactions more and more, and then reprogram them in a more

HOST LFST RB3000: constructive and positive way. Second, we become more and more

HOST LFST RB3000: present and awake as we go through our experiences while finding our

HOST LFST RB3000: "markers" all over it, reminding us of everything we wish to remember.

HOST LFST RB3000: The third outcome is that this practice develops and crystalizes our

HOST LFST RB3000: "double" or "dream body" or "astral body." This is not just "astral

HOST LFST RB3000: projection" or mediumship -- it is actually forming a fully conscious, fully

HOST LFST RB3000: functional and immortal second body of our attention, and it is this vehicle

HOST LFST RB3000: which can first exercise *Will* or true volition.

HOST LFST RB3000: If this body is formed correctly, it will have Knowledge (here the capital

HOST LFST RB3000: "K" means that it is direct Knowledge of Beingness, not mere "facts" or

HOST LFST RB3000: "information").

Nubbinus: 3000 I understand you

HOST LFST RB3000: Let's work on this one-- it's rather significant, and amazing, if I do say so :)

Nubbinus: but I have found being without logic to be the way

Nubbinus: just seeing and being, without reacting

HOST LFST RB3000: Nubbinus, actually, without *ordinary logic*, because there is an amazing

HOST LFST RB3000: logic to all of this, in higher dimensionalities.

HOST LFST RB3000: Nubbinus, or perhaps, being fully *aware* of our reactions -- but without judgment, for sure.

HOST LFST RB3000: moment, it sets a "marker" that we can guide on next time, like a buoy at sea.

HOST LFST RB3000: SO THEN, if we have made thousands of tiny awarenesses in our

HOST LFST RB3000: consciousness, we have a sea-full of markers, and can then connect all the dots -- see where that brings us?

HOST LFST RB3000: The Double can be wherever and whenever <it> intends to be, and it

HOST LFST RB3000: can bend physical law considerably. It is not at the level of a deity, but it

HOST LFST RB3000: can form communication spectra with higher levels.

HOST LFST RB3000: It is also *possible* (none of this is *probable*) to transform the astral

HOST LFST RB3000: body into the higher-order mental, causal or Divine "bodies", and later on

HOST LFST RB3000: we might be able to examine what these could be, and what attributes

HOST LFST RB3000: they may have, depending on how much Power we will have collected as

HOST LFST RB3000: a group.

HOST LFST RB3000: The next new practice is: Work against negativity and against the inner

HOST LFST RB3000: "conversation": Daily, consistent practices of the other exercises allow an

HOST LFST RB3000: observer attention to be formed in us apart from our continuity of actions,

HOST LFST RB3000: thoughts and responses.

HOST LFST RB3000: This observer is able to identify more and more how much of our thoughts

HOST LFST RB3000: and communications are based on negative programs that we perpetuate

HOST LFST RB3000: with our inner talking and with our conceptual habits.

HOST LFST RB3000: What this means is that everything that we have been *calling* our

HOST LFST RB3000: "thoughts" are really just mechanical associations, and everything we

HOST LFST RB3000: have been calling our "feelings" are not even directly *felt*, but are

HOST LFST RB3000: merely reactions to our incessant internal justification,

HOST LFST RB3000: self-pity, spiteful thoughts based on infantile reactions, and all the

HOST LFST RB3000: nonsensical and inconsistent suggestions and demands that were made

HOST LFST RB3000: on us during our formative years.

HOST LFST RB3000: This does not imply that we are victims in any way -- we are what we are,

HOST LFST RB3000: despite what I think has happened to me, and despite whose fault I

HOST LFST RB3000: perceive all my weaknesses to be.

HOST LFST RB3000: The significance of the idea is that our gradually forming observer, using

HOST LFST RB3000: our gradually accumulating Power, can eventually identify the exact

HOST LFST RB3000: moment when the negative impulse occurs, and derail the ensuing self-justification mechanism.

HOST LFST RB3000: Do you see what this would allow us to do? We then can be Human

HOST LFST RB3000: Beings, finally in self-authority, the Source of its manifestation and

HOST LFST RB3000: experience. When this happens, we can make Decisions and know that

HOST LFST RB3000: we will keep them, no matter what, and we can instantly forgive

HOST LFST RB3000: everybody for everything!

HOST LFST RB3000: Comments?

RealmLady: RB3K.....what about the feelings that originate in our soul??????

RealmLady: not in our minds.....?

HOST LFST RB3000: anything else is entrained or programmed internal conversations *about*

HOST LFST RB3000: internal chatter-- we literally work ourselves up into these frenzies.

HOST LFST RB3000: patterns and self-absorption, and also for developing the inner strength

HOST LFST RB3000: and sensitivity necessary for ultimate ascension.

HOST LFST RB3000: Mythological and Shamanic roots of awakening."

HOST LFST RB3000: The easiest and most dramatic thing to look at first is the shere density of

HOST LFST RB3000: reminders of the presense of Spirit, God, the Supernatural. Churches in

HOST LFST RB3000: every direction, most of the cities and half of the street names are saints

HOST LFST RB3000: or miraculous events;

HOST LFST RB3000: here in California, our capital is "Sacrament" and our towns are "Our Lady,

HOST LFST RB3000: the Queen of the Angels", "Holy Cross", "Saint Barbara," "Saint David",

HOST LFST RB3000: "Saint Francis" and of course many native American holy names like Ojai

HOST LFST RB3000: and Shoshone.

HOST LFST RB3000: Another really obvious sign that we always go right past is the amount of

HOST LFST RB3000: the entirely unconscious swearing that most people do: "Oh, <the holy

HOST LFST RB3000: name of the Divine>", "<the Divine One>, curse <this person or

HOST LFST RB3000: experience>", "<the name of the avatar that the christians

HOST LFST RB3000: idolatrize>", etc.

HOST LFST RB3000: They use these oaths (technically, prayers and invocations) without

HOST LFST RB3000: every realizing that they are calling upon the Powers of the Universe for

HOST LFST RB3000: every petty impulse that they have.

HOST LFST RB3000: Going deeper, let's look at the dichotomy that our culture has concerning

HOST LFST RB3000: mythology. I find that, even when we allow that mythology contains

HOST LFST RB3000: "cultural richness" and links to the past, we still regard the contents of

HOST LFST RB3000: virtually all mythology as, at best, fanciful superstitions and children's stories.

HOST LFST RB3000: The reason for this is that, in our culture, we are far more superstitious

HOST LFST RB3000: than any of the cultures we study, in my opinion. We have very elaborate

HOST LFST RB3000: fetishes like "psychology", telescopes, neutrino detectors, atom

HOST LFST RB3000: smashers and electron microscopes, and we have untested but

HOST LFST RB3000: "incontrovertible" beliefs in "free will", "democracy" and "our

HOST LFST RB3000: <nationality|race | football team>".

HOST LFST RB3000: So we have our own mythologies in this culture, from the derogatory

HOST LFST RB3000: sense of the term. But what if mythology (including holy scripture) is

HOST LFST RB3000: actually reporting something to us, something that our ancestors knew

HOST LFST RB3000: and wished to make available to us.

HOST LFST RB3000: ?

RealmLady: an interesting thought..

HOST LFST RB3000: Of course, one of the great stories in mythology is that our future selves

HOST LFST RB3000: are sending knowledge back to our ancestors, as well.

HOST LFST RB3000: StellaWolf, well, "American" as the hub of the current western culture.

StellaWolf: I can't think of one myth since the dawn of christianity that would pertain to our culture.

RochelleDo: Many myths are rich in symbolism, though.

HOST LFST RB3000: with extraordinary faith and courage) can achieve immortality by taking

HOST LFST RB3000: some task, set by one of the local deities, into the underworld and going

HOST LFST RB3000: through their own personal death.

HOST LFST RB3000: In some cases, they were dismembered and strewn to all the corners of

HOST LFST RB3000: the earth. And then at those times, it is up to the belief and willingness of

HOST LFST RB3000: their lovers or disciples to find their parts and reunite them.

HOST LFST RB3000: But isn't this just exactly our own situation? We have "died" (fallen from

HOST LFST RB3000: awakened, unified Consciousness) and become "dismembered" (forgot

HOST LFST RB3000: where we came from and what we are doing here).

HOST LFST RB3000: But we do have a task to fulfill, if we happen to stumble upon it, or if we

HOST LFST RB3000: chance upon another person who either reminds us of the truth, or who is

HOST LFST RB3000: connected to a lineage that remembers.

HOST LFST RB3000: Usually, all the lineages have themselves forgotten, and are simply

HOST LFST RB3000: perpetuating some particular form of the original transmissions, and just

HOST LFST RB3000: become religions who war among themselves as to which one is the most

HOST LFST RB3000: "righteous."

RealmLady: that is the fate of humans upon birth Host....to forget Who We Really Are....

HOST LFST RB3000: But mythology also tells us what our task is, albeit in metaphorical terms -

HOST LFST RB3000: - the holy grail, the golden fleece, the pot at the end o' the rainbow, the

HOST LFST RB3000: promised land, the crystal bridge, the hall of doors in Wonderland, visitors

HOST LFST RB3000: from the hidden worlds, elves, faeries, unicorns, Shangri-La, and on and

HOST LFST RB3000: on ...]

HOST LFST RB3000: RealmLady, that is not our *fate*, just our "condition", methinks :)
